2010 Toyota Prius V Car Review

This item was filled under [ Cars ]

twitter.com – I’ve had my new Toyota Prius for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say – I love it! I wanted to drive it for awhile before I attempted to review it for all of you. This was to allow me to make a serious decision as to how I liked the car, and gave me the opportunity to try everything out! There are a lot of gadgets, gizmos and gauges in this little baby. It’s definitely an awesome piece of machinery, and one I’d definitely recommend you take a look at if you’re looking for a new ride. chris.pirillo.com – http

True, in fact it actually wastes energy. B mode should be engaged when the traction battery is topped and you are going down a slope. In this situation pressing the brake pedal will not engage regen breaking but only the friction brakes, so to avoid overheating them you put into B and use engine braking.

btw. . lane keep assist will help steer you back into your lane if you don’t use your blinker and your turning attempt is minimal. . if you try to change lanes it will let you. . but otherwise it won’t let you Drift into another lane.

this car should never be left in B mode. . it doesn’t save any energy. . just helps braking efforts without charging the battery.

thanks so much for the walk through! I was slightly curious about this ugly little bugger after I had the chance to win one, and wanted to further look into it. Pictures are fine, but nothing like this instructional! I appreciate it. I am truely blown away and hopefully I will be sitting in your seat this summer!

This reminds me of fight club.
One day all these smug yuppies are going to get tired of being out-raced and made fun of and they’re going to buy humvees and dodge vipers.
I’m happy my car doesn’t whine at when I’m too far over.

You will do better for the earth and wallet by installing 8 more inches of insulation in your attic instead of buying a prius.

@adamslurch71 To be honest even if you take that into account european cars tend to be more economical, probably due to EuroIV legislation, they tend to be smaller engined and most cars tend to be stick shift.

Yes because the just leave the batteries in the ocean when the car is going to the car recycle center. . .

well well. . . Everyone is thinking that recycling is getting worst for every day that goes by. . .

And the Ni the use to make the battery, comes from canada. . . Or lord, please don’t make the kindergarden kids digg up some Ni for my prius. . .

How does it feel driving in a murderer’s car? You may not be polluting the planet (I mean by driving it, not counting excessive poluting that goes into creating the batteries, and of course heavy industry involved in creating the bulk of the car itself. ) as much as the average car, but the batteries require much, much more sulfur mined by the poor folk that go down into active volcanoes without a mask, dying at staggeringly young ages to give you your slow, uncomfortable, extremely ugly ecobox.

07 yukon xl (single, just love being the biggest thing on the road) and an 07 corvette. Hybrid wont touch my driveway, ever. Im quite happy paying for premium fuel as I actually have vehicles I enjoy driving and can actually be comfortable in, and im not slowing down the people behind me due to hybrid owners trying to save an ounce of fuel. Sorry But I will keep my v-8s, and my luxury and my awesomeness. If I brought a 20k car to my neighborhood they would ask If I need income assist.

I like the Prius but i never use the “eco meter”. The car has bad enough acceleration as it is and the meter just forces me to accelerate even slower.

@Rlnthndr you can save a hell of alot of money by using a hybrid car you know! and if you have something like the prius or the BMW 118d then you’re actually okay because these two aren’t really that slow. and for the most part, there is a speed limit on the roads you know so there isn’t really much point having a normal fuel car unless you want to go offroad or for any other reason someone may need a large vehicle. Hybrid cars don’t suck at all! may i ask what do you drive?

hybrid owners suck. Trying to save an ounce of fuel by slowing down 50 cars behind it. yea really great. . . .
