I tried to grow a beard and wear a hat when I tried to replace (or change out for you Americans) my starter motor. However, my beards ginger, and I dont suit hats, so I did it naked instead. Worked a treat

@dahoss65 Its the starter, Advance altenators and starters are crap. Not anything you can do other than get aanother from somewhere else, or live with thr whine. I usually use carquest for most any part, litlle more exspensive but quality parts. Advance isn’t very good for replacement parts. They’re usually aftermarket parts, your better off with oem parts like they supply at carquest or napa. Maybe they’ll refund it since your not pleased with the performance.
Nice vid; My starter for my 1992 chevy Lumina 3. 1 cac been ringing from the flex plate while starting; The solenoid was intermittent so we had to drop the starter out. My pop helped remove and install it. Just a reminder – Some vehicles can have more than one wire going to the starter’s battery terminal for feeding aux circuits! When solenoid was fixed we put the starter back in, missed a wire and the car had power to only some circs
Frustration, time wasted, lesson learned lol!
i cant see anything because of the letters
he knows what he’s talking about BUT on some cars u need to shim the starter or it will crack on you. Shims give you more of a spacing inbetween the starter and flywheel so you dont have the flyweel crack the starter when trying to start the car.
wow
put it up in your hole xD
good stuff
thaaaaaaaaaaaaanks alot
1:29 lol he says, “put it back in your hole!
I replaced a starter w/solenoid on a 93 bonneville we had bought with a new starter from Advanced Auto Parts, and now it whines real bad on start up. I took it out and re-installed. . . same results. Whines real bad. I made sure it was sqaurely and evenly installed both times, but it didnt matter.
The old starter worked fine right up until it went out and never had any whining noises. Also there wasnt any shims attached to it. So I have no idea why it’s whining.
Any ideas on what to do? Thks
some are ook i suppose, i wish this was little more in depth though.
Who cares for these videos???
