Be sure to observe the following order of work!
Failure to comply with the correct sequence can lead to triggering squib disconnector batteries and electrical damage to the car.
If the terminal of the battery mounted on the positive findings closely enough:
- Disconnect the negative cable first-hand, from the negative terminal of the battery.
- Then disconnect the positive cable-needle-positive terminals of the battery.
Thanks for a good review! This video is the only one that mentions which battery post to take off first (negative) and put on first (positive). Would be nice to explain why.
thank you very much
im 15 and i wana learn mechanics
@timsb2004, cant you just do it in reverse to put a new one in?
Thanks for showing this on a subaru! I needed to remove the battery to get to my left side low beam headlight.
Cheers for the video, just helped me remove & replace my first car battery
it’s in their next video
I know right? I was just going to do the same steps in reverse, but that wouldn’t make much sense now would it?
why didn’t they show how to put the new one in. . crud
not all batteries have that clip. and it doesn’t really matter what cable you unhook first
these videos are the best thing on youtube. . i know nothing about vehicles, these videos have helped me fix so many issues on it! thanks
Count on battery hold downs to be different on all cars.
I don’t know why he ackowledged that the locator clip is specific to the car model but seemed to stay with the impression that every application will have a J-hook type hold down bracket.
I love how he’s like. “This is a J hook, it looks like a J. The J hook lives in a hole. . . ” I feel like I’m watching a nature program or something.
good video.
why is there never any female mechanics on videos ?? im training to be a mechanic & im a female it wud be encouraging to see more female mechanics.
also why is there never any BRITISH mechanics on any of these mechanic videos on youtube ???? sick of hearing an american accent
great, now the car has no battery!
no you will just probably blow some fuses
what if i remove the +/- cables in the wrong order and install them the wrong way? will i get shocked?
Old Wife’s Tale BTW
you cant type for shit. does that mean you shouldnt try to post on youtube?
He should have said that you NEVER set a battery on cement. Old or new. It can ruin it.
My terminals are rusted to hell, and same with the nuts holding the mounting bracket on. Any suggestions? =/
this was super helpful
this was retarded ! don,t encourage people to shit they don’t knowe if you don’t even know the basics like positiv/negative i say leave it because a car battery can do a lot of damage
I really dont think so for this moment thank U for asking, bcus I can NEVER FIIIIIIND A JJJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO. . . . . . . . . . . . . . I HAVE NOOOOO LIFFFFEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *commits suicide* I really hope the world ends in 2012
