Extreme Car Audio BASS VS. Zoom Q3 HD Camcorder – SMD Camera Challenge
As you know, if you watch my channel a lot, i usually make video’s based on big crazy, loud car audio. The type of bass we are talking about, can easily distort most camera’s. Even though the point of the video isnt for someone to enjoy the actual song, but more of a visual example of how loud the system is….i still get people who complain about the “distortion” in the sound. I even have my fair share of dumb-asses who think my system actually sounds like the distortion you hear over the recording. Im hear to tell you, and anyone who has heard my system will say the same thing, its NOT what you hear in the video. Its clean in real life. Anyhow, Don from theaudiophile store, sends me a message telling me HIS camera is capable of handling the job. I tried to explain that my system is a lot different then his home, audiophile system and i would have no trouble demolishing his camera mic. A week later, the camera showed up. The challenge is ON! thanks Don, it was FUN….but the camera was a complete failure….at least for recording bass at over 157db. Does anyone else think they have a camera that can take the bass? send it, i will try it. If its good, i will buy it! (within reason that is!) that camera did make an improvement but nothing can capture what you have
man that cam suport alot of bass but not inof
this cam is great
@derekrreynolds AGREE AGREE AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!! ZOOM is the better recording mic with tru x and y mics. Don’t be sad that you don’t want to switch to ZOOM derek. I totaly understand why that guy stood behind that camera 100%! It did not sound super crisp or destroy my desk speakers but god damn this mic was very enjoyable while seeing your girls stick their head in the window compaired to your other videos. Love your hooptie and the crew. BAHM!!! I’m done
lol thats pretty cool how the window moves to the beat. Didn’t know it did that.
what the name of all the songs in the video?also not to be a ass but what happened to your roof? the white circles?
hey Steve this camera wasn’t a complete failure. It did pretty damn good. It just won’t work on computer speakers. I plugged in my Turtle Beach HPX gaming headset and I thought the speakers were gonna blow. It was shaking my head. I assume it would work even better playing through a home theater like setup
i wonder how badly damaged your ear drums are. . .
@meade916 The Q3 ha is alot better though. On my pc speakers it sound better than the regular camer. nice truck by the way.
wats da song at 5:13
Ouch. Waste of money on that thing. Trial in error I guess.
I checked out the song at 6:50
“The Bassorcist – Slo Decaf In The Hurse ”
enjoy
Steve, come on! Your sound system is awesome and I would pay you 10$ to sit in your car for few minutes, but please give me the name of the track on 6:51
Greetz, Chris
OMFG! How The Hell Did Ya Get 18″ Sub’z ?? I mean WHERE Did Ya Get Them !? I Live In Croatia n There You Can Barely Get 15″ Sub’z. . . Man Diz Sucks. . . =//
@blackknightxxx ya, and then i turned it up and it was just as bad as any other camera i tried. Did you stop the video before i turned it up or something? you must have because this thing sounds terrible. . . it did sound good from OUTSIDE the car, but they all sound better outside the car.
I did like this camera better, at least we as long distant fans could actually hear some of the bass without hearing alot of freaking distortation. . . . . you could hear the crispy highs and mids, and the bass til the bass was really banging please continue using the Q3 HD CAMERA, great gift !!!!!!!!
try thr kodak zi8
You know why I think that microphones that you use on compact cameras can’t pick up the bass good is because they use tiny mic’s. I say try a full size like I’m talking movie production camera and see if that works lol.
@derekrreynolds it didnt even sound 1x better let alone 1000x lol – i dont know what video you watched but that thing was AWEFUL. You cant count the sound when the mic is outside, im talking about it being near the window. I already sent it back.
@DeafeningSounds I disagree. The picture on MY camera looks better. . . and external mics are no match for the system either. Already tried.
New camera had better SQ and picture seemed bit sharper. .
Anyways
To recored “bass” you need a camera that allows the use of an external mic. . Hit up “radio shack” (or any electrical parts store) and buy a “Bass” mic its sole job is to be used in Bass Drums. . It will be about the best your going to get. .
Unless you make your own mic from an 6″ driver
This new Camera may not be able to handle the extreme bass of your system but it still sounds 1000x better then the old camera you have been using.
I’d say keep it and continue using it for your videos.
Still it sounds aliitle better
@meade916 hey also there is a app available called tone generator , it is the shit for sound off and just to play with , i put an ipad in my dash and that app allows me to play and hz from 1-20000 and you can change the wave type.
@meade916 yeah try it with some stout tape , maybe even that a/c tape that has the silver tin stuff on one side.
