    I have a question, I installed my cap correctly but it doesnt turn off when I turn my car off, and it drains my battery, what should I do?

    @Merhivi There’s no need to fuse the ground when installing a car audio capacitor. Just make sure to have a fuse in-line with your 12v power and you’ll be protected and good to go!

    @xdragosx That’s a strange issue to run into with this amplifier and that large of an alternator. Usually factory alternators are around 100 amps, so if you’re running a 150 there may be a problem with the electrical systems ground in your vehicle. It may be that the amplifier itself doesn’t have a stable ground so it’s over-drawing from your power source to compensate for this. Check your 12v power/ground connections are stable so they can achieve full continuity.

    hello. i have a bmw with the stock 150amp alternator and i`m using an mtx tc6004 like the one in the video to power my speakers and my lights dim on heavy bass. i dont have a capacitor, would one help me with this problem or is this amplifier not that efficient? i used to own a vw with a stock 120amp and have no problems at all with a 400w rms subwoofer. thx!

    @djchichi31 Power solutions depend on a lot of factors (i. e. your car alternator size, the amplifiers you are using and how efficient they are, and how much overall power your system is running). If you’re totaling over 1000 watts of RMS power in your system (which you most likely are) go for a battery like the HC1800 by Kinetik. 35 Farad Stiffening Caps usually won’t store as much power as stated, and they’re only capable of storing power. If you choose a capacitor, use the HCAP-40.

    @SonicElectronixTV how do you charge them when first installing? and do i install everything in and the last step is to attach the red cable to the positive terminal on the car battery?

    @rispeto With a capacitor you should only have to charge them when first installing. Capacitors will recharge themselves from your battery after it’s initial charge. If your capacitor is constantly discharging without resupplying itself with a charge than your capacitor may be defective.

    @NewfiePaintballa Yes. The video doesn’t show the positive wire from the battery clearly. It’s also connected to the same post as the other positive.

    Is the output wire on the positive just screwed down like the input? One on top of the other? Plan to do this tomorrow so someone please help!

    @Merhivi It could be a defective capacitor. If your ground is connected with a fuse in-inline and the moment you connect the positives your fuse blows and the capacitor sparks the capacitor may be shorting. Make sure your ground is connected prior to connecting power and a fuse is in line (which is sounds like you’ve already verified) and it seems to us as though your capacitor is defective.     I hav a question, I hav a Power Acoustik PC2. 0F that I got from sonic electronix! I got a resistor along with it for charging the cap but instead i used a 12v bulb. But the problem is even after I charge the cap, wen i try to connect the + of the cap to the + of the battery I get sparks and the fuse blows out. Any help? My amp is a JBL GTO 7001(700WRMS) and I am using a 2ga power cable!!! Please help i hav already blow three fuses and I dont want to blow more.

    @harjitsd That Hifonics amplifier draws a bit more current at 1 Ohm that at 2 Ohm so you concern is understandable. Since your alternator is a little smaller than most it might be strained a bit. The short answer to your question is it will minimally effect your electrical system. It most likely won’t be noticeable, but you might want to upgrade your cars alternator if you plan on expanding any further onto your system.

    i have two pioneer tsw308d4 12″ subwoofers and a hifonics bxi 608 amplifier which is stable at 1 ohm. I currently have it running one of my pioneers but wish to run both subs on that amp ay 1 ohm. I just wanted to ask what is the downside to using 1 ohm in place of 2 ohm? 2 speakers on a mono amp at 1 ohm – good idea? i have a little car ( opel corsa ) which has a oridnary battery with a 60 amp alternator, would the impedance effect the cars eletronic functioning? appreciate the help, thank you

    @thedickbutt101 A capacitor can benefit the amplifiers, more likely the monoblock more than the multichannel. The reason why a capacitor will help in your audio system is because the capacitor is storing voltage near your amplifiers and can discharge quickly to provide power to your amps.     @upthebum100 If installed incorrectly, or installed in an electrical system that is malfunctioning capacitors can be as dangerous as a battery.

    In some situations capacitors can explode, leak, or short out. It’s highly recommended to have a professional install your capacitor along with the rest of your audio system.

    honestly my friend gave me one for free cause im the olny one he knows with a syatem. what the fuck do these do? is it any benefit to my 12’s and 1000w multichannel amp? or a 500 mono block.

    @ThatFreeThinker Not a dumb question at all. Simply put, a capacitor will hold a charge. This can benefit a car audio system because amplifiers sometimes demand large amounts of power very quickly. If your capacitor is constantly holding a charge closer to your amplifiers, this can help meet up with the demand. Also capacitors discharge quickly, faster than your battery can essentially. As far as batteries, I’ll PM you details as there’s too much info for the character limit.
