How To Make Homemade Fuse Blocks – Cheap Car Audio Install Tricks – Cool 0 Gauge ANL Holder Upgrade
Ever been stuck on a project because you don’t have enough fuse blocks? Why pay $40 when you can make your own! It’s wicked easy & the plastic ones are no better! www.youtube.comEnjoy The Music? Subscribe For More Information On These ORIGINAL Tracks – Cultivata & MC Fathom Phantom** Step 1: Cut to length your 3/4 inch wood sliver to fit your applied fuse ( ANL ) Step 2: Mark & Drill 2 holes for the mouting bolts – matching the spot up with the eye. Step 3: Use a 1/2 inch butteryfly bit to shave down the existing hole by 1/4 inch ( This allows for Flush Mounted Heads ) Step 4: Drill 2, 2 inch by 5/8 inch fine thread screws into each hole, threading will occur naturally. Step 5: Then take 2 lug fasteners and find prefered fuse location along the 2″ bolt. Step 6: Place fuse onto post, and screw on 2 more addition lugs. ( This will affix the fuse to the post firmly & securly ) Step 7: ( At This Point, solder the terminals onto your wire ) I will be getting some soon! Step 8: Fill the back of the fuse block with wood filler! ( This will prevent grounding out ) Step 9: Place terminals over post, and screw on 2 more additional lugs ( This will affix the terminals to the post firmly & securly ) Step 10: ENJOY! @packfan88 – Your Mom’s
what brand curling iron do you use?
@mrDJSCREECHstep
you don’t need to worry about wood conducting electricity until you are in the thousands of volts
and if you want to make it weatherproof you could put it inside of one of the gray plastic weatherproof junction boxes you can get in the electrical section in the hardware store. . . just drill the holes to correct size of the wire and maybe put a rubber grommet?
wood conducts electricity so how does this work ???????
@ArtworkofaDemise No, it goes by the gauge of your wire not by the wattage of your amplifiers.
UGh. . . . #0ga. cable would call for a 350a fuse, would it not?
@schrankm i think he meant
5/16 drill bit. . . .
i like the way you made the fuse block but i need to put 5 sets of lights on my truck can you give me some pointers on how to make somthing like that but just a little smaller or is just easyer to just by one you can e-mail me at joaerv2000@hotmail. com thank you

@ArtworkofaDemise thats not necerally true the size of the wire has alot to do with it as well for example my amp has 6 runs of power input and it uses 2/0 cable and i use 300 amp fuse and my watts divided by volts isnt 300 its 583 so if i were to use 6 525 amp fuses or so then to much current/heat would pass through and possibly cause a fire that rule u put is more for the lower power amps
i would not use wood for this, i made a fuseholder for a serious dc power supply and i used UMPE plastic and threaded studs into the plastic, then i sealed the thing inside a waterproof box to prevent someone touching it.
Cool
@ArtworkofaDemise nah you want to rate the inline fuse for the gauge of wire gauge your running to get the most power to the amps, the amps built in fuses protect the amp, inline fuse protects your car from you wire grounding out and blowing up your battery
@bucis123 You could but there’s an issue with the fuse just kinda hanging around in your car. All a fuse does is make a weak point in an electrical system, current in current out.
Neat trick, but you could use American standard bolts too if yah want.
As for fuses and wattage. It’s amount of watts your amp uses divide by the amount of volts. So, for example, I have have a 660 watt amp, 660 divided by 12 volts is 55, however you might want to give yourself some room. So in my case I use a 50 watt fuse.
It’s simply volts/watts.
thats a badass fuse block!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey exo you ever tryed to make a power distrubor any idea if you could?
@SAYHEMI1 hey bro, this isnt exact but you’ll get the idea. lets say your fuse is a 60a. . . . it will play up to around 600watts before it blows the fuse. An 80a fuse will blow at about 800watts and so on. . . Get yourself a 100a for your 1000 watt alpine (i believe that amp has four 25a fuses which = 100a). . . . i also recomend a run of 4ga power wire. If money is a problem hit the savage yard. Almost all BMW 5series & up from 95 to present have 00ga power wire stock
@fallenangel0074
he also forgot to mention not only can it be a ground issue
If your RCA cords are running with your powerline thats also WRONG. Your power wire could be sending out a currenty which the RCA is picking up. go look on crutchfield on how its supposed to be wired
i have a alpine mrd m1005 amp hooked up, and 8 gauge running it, and the fuse block has a 80a fuse, but as i turned the volume up the fuse blew. not only did it blow, it broke the prongs, plus started to melt the fuse,
if i were to do the homeade fuse block would this prevent this issue?
i’m not a pro but can’t you skip the wood part and just screw the fuse to the power wire?
what is this for? how much are they?
@DBazan5 – Corrosion prevention.
@fallenangel0074 – Grounding issue for sure!
