    incredible how durable Beamers are. I have owend 2 beamers a 320i and a 523i. I still do own the 523i. I have never ever had problems with the cars. Its cheap(in the netherlands) to buy parts and they last long. The cars are allso verry verry wel engineared(?). Maintenence is easy. They are a absolute yoy to ride!!! What cars deliver so mutch for so less? Audi/Merc riders never have driven in a beamer or els they would ride a Beamer!!!

    My 2001 Lexus is300 has that ski-pass through bag. I don’t see why he is so amazed over it in a much more expensive and newer car.

    @akburst510 The BMW coupes (328&335) are nothing short of beautiful , German assembled statements, the reason why i was leaning towards the 6 series is because it is bigger, handles and rides like a grand touring car and has sex appeal, not to mention a convertible is always welcomed. Where i will say the 3 series has unbeaten success, is in reliability compared to the 6 series (9 recalls on the 09-10 models) compared to none on the 328 and 1 one the 335. Repairs on the 6 are more too.

    @6UNLEASHED
    I own a BMW 335i coupe (which I think is the best looking BMW apart from the M3) , so I might be biased, but I think that the 6er is ugly. . and I tried to like it. My mom drives a 645i convertible. It’s just too big to be sporty. It does have a very VERY nice driver oriented cockpit though. My mom doesn’t like its ride too. . . the runflats (which I used to also have before getting PS2’s) are terrible.

    Sleepy, I must agree with what you said! 3 series are the “average” BMW “average” buyers get there hands on. . . a 6 series is saying not only do i want a BMW, but i also want a dead sexy one. To me, its more then just a car, its a statement, the 6 series from every angle is designed to have sex appeal for years to come, with ZERO age.

    everyone is talkin bout the track time between 650 vs 3 series. The 650 is a fast car but also breaks necks!. . . When chicks see a 3 series they say i want one, when they see a 6 series they say i want him! lol. . . All nice cars, i vote for the larger flashier one with speed, luxury and style. . .

    @gracer99 yea but when it comes to looks and making an impression the 6 is obvi the way to go

  • gracer99
    6 July, 2011, 7:44

    to illustrate my point. 6 series interior space is 81 cubic feet while the 3 series coupe is 88! The 650 is 5. 3 0-60 in acceleration while the 335 is 4. 9! there is no point to the 6 series, at least not enough to justify $30k plus

    The problem with the 6 series is that there is no point to it other than the cache the owner thinks a larger badge number and $20K price premium gives him. The 3 series is just as roomy, just as fast, just as “luxurious” and arguable handles better. If bmw where smart they would create a 7 series coupe along the lines of a mercedes cl or bentley gt. A mammoth, roomy, bouldering, heavy tourer, more comfort and less sportiness.

    This car may not have any direct competitors, but that’s only because of its price point. If you take price out of the equation, this car would be a direct competitor of the Infiniti G37 coupe. It is similar in so many ways that I would love to see a head-to-head comparison of the two vehicles, despite the price difference.
