Roadfly.com – 2011 Kia Optima Review & Test Drive

This item was filled under [ Cars ]

The 2011 Kia Optima is another visually stunning product from the designers at Kia. It’s been totally redesigned for 2011, and is easily one of the most recognizable, well-proportioned, and daring cars on the road today. Kia was kind enough to send us a fully loaded Optima SX Turbo, which sported nearly every option offered, as well as the top-shelf 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that pumps out 274 hp and 269 lb.-ft of torque while achieving a stunning 34mpg on the highway. It impressed us with great reflexes, surprising power, and a high level of standard equipment including heated rear seats and a cooled glove box. Watch host Emme Hall’s thorough and lively review of this overachieving sedan and share your thoughts! –Road Test Editor Visit roadflytv.com for more pictures and a downloadable window sticker. I purchased a 2011 Optima SX turbo with the technology and luxury packages. at the end of March 2011. Yes it is a “damn fine lookin machine” It’s a sweet ride . . . . power delivery is smooth; turbo lag is minimal. . torque steer is very minimal. The NEXEN tires suck and IMO account for the less than stellar wet road and even dry road handling. . . better tires and this car will have kick ass wet and dry handling.

As a correction to Emme’s stats the 2. 0 turbo produces 274 HP not 270

Btw, this was an excellent review – I really like Emmie!

A perfect combination of professionalism, coolness and femininity. The type of girl I would ask out in a heartbeat basically. I doubt she would be the whiny and annoying type!

    Sexy too.

Kia and Hyundai are KILLING the game right now!

Their reality is great. but the thing that has propelled them to the top as of late is their refusal to carry one the “bitch-assed” styling that has held back companies like Honda and Toyota for the past 10-15 years!!

I love Toyota, my first car ever was a ‘91 Toyota GT Turbo Starlet (sweet!) – they make some of the best mechanical cars HOWEVER, the styling on most of their cars recently is just TOO BITCHY!!

    Go Hyundai & Kia!

    Equus, Genesis . . .

thats what audi get for firing its old designer. . . damn if this thing has an audi badge, it surely will be one of the top selling cars. New VWs and audi has shitty rears. . . . and i mean damn shitty rears.

@ysssuhi Yeah, that’s a little pricey for a Kia. I agree. It should be priced lower then the comp. Not with the comp.
